It’s our mission at LR to share our diamond expertise with you, providing honest, accurate, complete information and offering you a variety of options to suit your needs and interests. To that end, in addition to a wide range of natural diamonds, we are proud to offer a large selection of high quality, beautifully cut, lab grown diamonds as an option for clients interested in an alternative to the natural product. We appreciate the fact that your perspective and your relationship are unique and we believe you should have the opportunity to make a fully informed choice about the diamond that is best for you. We’re here to help you do just that – with a wide variety of options and expert advice to make it easy.
What Are Lab Grown Diamonds?
Lab grown diamonds are diamonds that are produced in facilities that utilize advanced scientific knowledge and sophisticated technology to recreate heat and pressure conditions similar to those present 100 miles beneath the surface of the earth. Under these tightly controlled conditions, crystals large enough to produce a 1-carat diamond can be grown in a matter of days. Lab grown diamonds share similar chemical, optical and physical characteristics with mined diamonds, but there are some differences that, while not at all visible to the eye, make it possible for us to tell them apart using specifically designed equipment.
Exceptional Quality, Remarkable Value and Responsible Sourcing - Always
LR Lab Grown Diamonds are graded using the same standards as mined diamonds – and most come with grading reports from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) or International Gemological Institute (IGI). Every LR diamond is conflict free and responsibly sourced, whether it’s man-made or natural. We’re dedicated to an ethical and transparent supply chain – and to providing you with the best value available across a full range of options.
Because It matters…
Ethical Sourcing and Sustainability
At LR Jewelers, we care deeply about our world and the people in it.
We consider it a privilege to work with natural diamonds - one of the earth’s most precious resources, and there’s little more important to us than protecting the environments from which our diamonds are sourced and the lives of the people who work to bring them to us.
As is the case with almost every industry, the natural diamond industry isn’t without its critics What most fail to note however, is the tremendous progress that has been made over the past 30 years. As the consumer continues to demand a more responsible industry, the natural diamond industry continues to respond with greater transparency, better supply chain controls, more sustainable processes and continued investment in environmental and social improvements. At LR, we go to great lengths to ensure that all of our natural diamonds originate from ethically and environmentally responsible sources. We require verification that every one of our supply partners respects all US and international regulations for ethical sourcing and that they employ practices in compliance with the Kimberly Process and with all internationally recognized labor, trade, and environmental standards.
WHAT ARE ethically SOURCED DIAMONDS?
Ethically sourced diamonds are diamonds that are mined and handled by companies with a true commitment to protecting our earth, to the health, safety and quality of life of their workers and to the well-being and growth of their communities. These companies operate using environmentally sound processes and sustainability-focused efforts, ensuring responsible business practices on every step of the journey from mine to finished product. LR diamonds are carefully selected from trusted sources in the diamond capitals of the world. We travel to these countries regularly to meet with our partners and to handpick the diamonds we make available to you. Our ongoing personal relationships provide us with the assurance that they are providing not only the best quality diamonds, but ones procured through ethically and environmentally sound practices.
Beyond guaranteed conflict free, LR’S Direct Origin Diamonds are specifically chosen for their detailed provenance, documented with an Origin Report from the Gemological Institute of America and tracked using the most advanced blockchain technology. In partnership with Ever ledger, an industry-leading blockchain technology platform, we maintain the highest standards in the jewelry industry for promoting responsibility and transparency. In doing so, we ensure that every step in the journey of your Direct Origin Diamond is in alignment with these United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
No Poverty: Improving the living standards in mining communities and supporting artisanal and small-scale miners, enabling them to enter a legitimate market and be paid market rates.
Decent Work and Economic Growth: Preventing human rights abuses, supporting workers rights, and helping communities to develop by ensuring transparent reporting on ethical and responsible practices in the supply chain.
Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure: Using blockchain, NFC and IoT technologies to document the story of a product’s journey, from its manufacturing origin to the end consumer.
Sustainable Cities and Communities: Adhering to industry best practices by enabling more transparency in defining the environmental footprint.
Responsible Production and Consumption: Every Direct Origin Diamond has an unalterable record on the blockchain. This strengthens its provenance story with privacy and traceability and secures it against tampering.
