Larry's father Robert began working as a watchmaker for a local jewelry store Downtown Waterloo in 1947 after returning from World War 2. He went on to purchase his own store in Waverly in 1960. His father’s work inspired Larry to work by his side in the jewelry business for over 38 years. Larry has 53 years as a certified master watchmaker, jeweler, and diamond appraiser. In 2009, Larry and his wife Connie opened LR Jewelers Downtown Cedar Falls! Their son Drew also found a passion in the art of jewelry, now a 3rd generation Jeweler. Drew has been working at the store for 13 years. He attended the New Approach school for Jewelers to become a certified goldsmith. He also attended the gemological institute of America in both London and Carlsbad.
